Kick Your Habit: Why Habits Matter More Than Motivation

Many people believe they need more motivation to change. The truth is that motivation comes and goes, but habits shape our daily lives.
That's why SANCA's #70Challenge focuses on small, achievable actions that build momentum.
⏸️ Pause It.🔄 Swap It.🥋 Kick It.
The Power of Small Changes
Every day we make hundreds of choices, often without thinking. These repeated behaviours become habits.
Some habits help us thrive:
Exercising regularly
Drinking enough water
Getting enough sleep
Spending time with loved ones
Others can slowly hold us back:
Excessive social media use
Smoking or vaping
Emotional eating
Procrastination
Substance use
The good news? Habits can be changed.
How the #70Challenge Works
For seven days, participants commit to changing one unhealthy habit by:
✅ Swapping the behaviour for a healthier alternative for 70 seconds
✅ Delaying the urge for 70 minutes
✅ Sharing their progress to encourage others
✅ Staying committed for seven days
Progress Over Perfection
Change doesn't happen overnight. It happens through repeated small choices.
Every time you pause before acting on an urge, you strengthen your ability to make healthier decisions. Every time you choose a better alternative, you create a new pathway toward positive change.
As SANCA joins the global focus on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the #70Challenge reminds us that prevention and recovery often begin with simple daily actions.
You can change everything.
One habit. One choice. One day at a time.
Join SANCA's #70Challenge from 22–28 June 2026 and take the first step toward lasting change. 💙
