...as a school...

Drug and alcohol use is highly influenced by the attitudes and perceived norms of peers. School-based programs may be delivered in a school-day, extended-day, or after-school. Effective approaches to school-based drug and alcohol prevention include educating teachers / peer educators / parents to recognize the signs of substance abuse and how to handle these situations correctly. Also teaching students how to resist peer influences, improving generic life skills, etc.

...as an individual...

There has never been a better time to sponsor an “at risk” teenager! The Bridge is a non profit substance abuse centre that is dedicated to helping teenagers in need. We believe that these impressionable ‘teen’ years are a make or break period in a child’s life and without support, many are at risk of becoming another statistic. Correct Adolescent Development addresses the needs of youth so they can actively contribute to their own well-being and the community overall.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Financing treatment for addiction is a major concern for many parents. Getting to this point is not easy, so getting back on the road to good health and clean living shouldn't be dependent on whether or not you can pay for it. Drug rehab treatment can be quite costly, and for some people, the main impediment standing between them and clean living is the often incorrect belief that they're not going to be able to pay for their care. An addicted person who is unable to pay for rehab will most likely remain on drugs. The essence of adolescent treatment programmes remain the same as all programmes, but the programme is extended.  Proven research indicates that behaviour modification for teenagers, needs to be facilitated over a longer period of time to ensure maximum results. Every day of treatment is fundamental to the success of recovery! To achieve our vision of empowering teenagers, we need your sponsorship to support the next generation.
